                          COLORS AND SPLENDORS OF JORDAN

 

Day 1, Arrive at Amman Airport, where we assist you through border control and then transfer to your hotel in Amman, one of the oldest cities in the world, inhabited since the Bronze Age. The city, although modern, retains its character and history.

 

Day 2, Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Kerak via the Route of the Kings – PetraShort stop at Madaba, "the city of mosaics", to visit its famous 6th century mosaic. Visit Mount Nebo which offers a spectacular view of the Jordan Valley and the Holy Land. Lunch. Then, we leave for the huge Crusader fortress of Kerak, dating from the 12th century and rising 900 m above sea level. Dinner and Overnight in Petra.

 

Day 3, Petra (Al-Deir Monastery - Lower City - Wadi Al-Maysra – Dushara)

We begin our hike along a little traveled path, towards magnificent mountains with viewpoints of Wadi Araba and Mount Aaron. Then, we arrive near the spectacular monastery (Al-Deir). We take the direction of the Lower City by taking the 790 steps to reach the Qasr al-Bint, the Great Temple, the Byzantine church and the Royal Tombs.

Day 4, Petra (El Khazneh - High Place of Sacrifice):

Early in the morning, short transfer to the main entrance of the City, then we cross the famous Siq which leads to the Treasury of Petra: El Khazneh, a majestic breathtaking facade. We continue our hike by the rue des Façades dominated by the imposing Djebel Al-Khubtha where tombs and dwellings are nestled. Then we arrive in front of the Greco-Roman amphitheater. Then we continue our way to the High Place of Sacrifice, a peak leveled by the Nabataeans. On this summit stand two obelisks carved out of the rock. We leave the site by the main siq. Transfer to the Wadi Rum desert (2h).

 

Day 5, Wadi Rum

We discover in depth the lunar landscapes of the desert. On the way, discovery of Um fruth, a small arch which rises about fifteen meters from the ground and which is accessible and passable. Far from the tourist crowd, we continue our progress towards the south passing through two valleys with superb white sands and incredible rocks, streaked with blue, pink and white (Umm Muqur, then Wadi Nuqra). Installation of the bivouac to be able to admire the sunset, in a quiet corner off the beaten track by tourists.

 

Day 6, Wadi Rum (Wadi Sabet - Umm Samin)

We continue our magnificent hike among red and ocher sandstone djebels. We arrive at Wadi Sabet for lunch. Here, the cooks present us with a lunch of fresh salads, hummus and eggplant caviar. Then, we head north again, passing at the foot of the Um Sabatah massif. Installation and night in bivouac.

 

Day 7, Wadi Rum - Dead Sea - Amman

Departure to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth and treasure of beauty with its spectacular white mineral concretions. Lunch on site. The high salinity of the sea will be an opportunity for a surprising swim.
Dinner and night in Madaba.

 

Day 8, Amman - France

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and assistance with departure formalities for France.
